The Melbourne Film Festival was established in 1952 and since its inception the event has fostered an enduring relationship with Australian graphic design. Central to the development of this unique body of work was the collaboration between pioneer director Erwin Rado and Ray Fisher – a creative director at K.M. Campbell Advertising. Fisher’s ability to attract some of Melbourne’s finest graphic artists to design the festival identity and programme, serviced Rado’s appetite for an international profile for the event.
