Principal and Creative Director of Sydney-based studio Leuver Design, the exquisitely gifted Marita Leuver has been at the top of her profession for more than 25 years, applying her passion for graphic design that is distinctive, intelligent, evocative and, above all, functional.
With her mother, an Illustrator and father who is an Art Director, it was perhaps inevitable that Marita would choose a career in graphic design. After setting up her first studio at the tender age of 21, she was joined by three of her sisters, also designers, and together they ran Leuver Leuver Leuver & Leuver for a decade. In 1997, Marita established her own practice, Leuver Design, which has become synonymous with Australian culture.
Her portfolio includes the logo and identity for the Sydney Opera House as well as branding and campaign design for the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Melbourne Art Fair, Sydney Film Festival, Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sarah Cottier Gallery, Kaliman Gallery, BKH, Dinosaur Designs, Christine Manfield’s Universal restaurant, Sydney Dance Company, Sydney Symphony, Powerhouse Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Numerous projects designed by Marita have been recognised locally and internationally, with awards from the pre-eminent industry associations including AWARD and D&AD (UK).
