These stamps, issued for the national conversion to the Metric system in 1973 were the first Australian stamps to feature cartoon-style illustration. Designed with characteristic whit and intelligence by Weatherhead & Stitt, they depict a rotund character coping with metric length, volume, mass and temperature.
