Studio: Les Mason Graphic Design
The Australian Reinforcing Company (Arc) are manufacturers of steel-fabricated mesh. Formed in 1920, ARC has supplied the steel built into many iconic Australian projects including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Tunnel and Opera House, the MCG and the Sydney and Melbourne Airports. ARC Industries (as it was known in the 1970s) was a regular commissioner of Les Mason Graphic Design for Annual Reports and assorted marketing material. This most significant publication traces the first fifty years of the company. The design is unified by a series of colourful abstract compositions, perhaps reflecting Mason’s interest in minimal or conceptual art of the period.
