A long friendship and professional association with film director Fred Schepisi led to Stitt desigining logos and film titles for Schepisi and many other Australian producers and directors. The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith, Schepisi’s second feature, tells the story of an exploited Aboriginal who commits murder and goes into hiding. It is based on actual events surrounding Jimmy Governor.
