Arthur Stokes was a classically trained typographer. He worked extensively in book design throughout the 1960s–70s, before committing himself to education, teaching typography at Melbourne’s Chisholm Institute. This cover, with its abstract graphic motif and modernist sans serif typography, is atypical of his work.
